Koutoubia Mosque
The Koutoubia’s 12th-century minaret is Marrakech’s best-known landmark and an important example of Almohad architecture. Non-Muslim visitors cannot enter the mosque, but the exterior and surrounding gardens can be viewed near Jemaa el-Fna.
Ben Youssef Madrasa
The former religious school is known for its courtyard, carved cedar, stucco and tilework. It is located in the medina near the Marrakech Museum.
Bahia Palace
Built principally in the late 19th century, Bahia Palace contains reception rooms, courtyards and gardens that demonstrate elite Moroccan domestic design.
Saadian Tombs
The Saadian Tombs contain richly decorated burial chambers associated with the Saadian dynasty. They are located in the Kasbah near the Moulay El Yazid Mosque.
El Badi Palace
The ruins of El Badi Palace provide a sense of the scale of a major Saadian royal complex. Terraces and surviving structures offer views across the old city.
Dar Si Said
Dar Si Said is a historic palace associated with collections of Moroccan decorative arts. Its architecture is also part of the visit.
The Medina and Souks
The medina is not a single monument but a living urban fabric of markets, workshops, homes and religious buildings. Walk with respect for residents and ask before photographing people or private workspaces.
